Heritage Square is a lovely little park in downtown Halfway offering public restrooms, a waste bin, a single small picnic table, a well-kept lawn for "blanket picnics" and featuring the "headstone" of a time capsule buried on Halfway's 100th anniversary in 2009 as well as two walls of tiles commemorating the many families who have called Halfway and Pine Valley home since the first settlers arrived in the 1860s. If the history of the area interests you at all, the Pine Valley Museum is just across the driveway and is open Fri.1-4, Sat.10-4, and Sun.10-1 Memorial day through Labor Day. Showings at other times available by calling one of the numbers listed in the front window. Admission is free (donations accepted).
