We went to DMV on Friday morning at about 9am and our number got called in about 15 minutes. We couldnt get our paperwork finished due to a few missing items, so we wanted to help others be more prepared and wrote this post. We moved from WA and needed to change our drivers licence and plates. To change DL, this is whats required 1) take a knowledge test that costs $5, so be prepared and study the rules before you come. Otherwise you will have to pay $5 forbevery test you re-take. 2) proof of address so bring some bill 3) proof you can be in America legally, so bring passport or green card 4) ID from previous state. 5) The cost to get a licence after you passed the knowledge test is $60.
For the plates they require you to go do an emission test and bring a certificate, bring title and $194, that how much it takes to register any car. And dont forget to write down your odometer reading before coming, its needed in the paperwork. In OR the car gets registered for two years. They accept cash, credit and debit cards. Hope this helps.
