Jiffy Lube

DO NOT GO HERE. I went for a simple oil change and the tech attempted to scare me into thinking that great harm would come to me if I drove my car even a mile further without getting the service she recommended. She told me that my windshield wipers were worn to the metal and needed replacement, that I needed my transmission fluid changed, my radiator flushed, my brake fluid replaced and that my brake pads were totally worn to the point of being dangerous. The cost for these services was well over $500. I took my car to my trusted mechanic an hour later and had them perform a five point maintenance review. Everything passed with green lights and the mechanic told me that none of the items that were pointed out to me needed attention. He told me it would be safe for my family to take the cross-country road trip we had planned. He even showed me photos of the areas that we discussed. It is disappointing that salespeople at these companies feel such pressure to up-sell that they reach the point of unscrupulously and blatantly lying to customers. I will repeat my suggestion to anyone reading this review: DO NOT go to Jiffy Lube at NE 33rd and NE Sandy in Portland!
