It was September, 1999 when I decided I needed to take up the art of ballroom dancing. You know, 1-2-3, 1-2-3. I walked into a dance studio and by dumb luck, I was paired with an instructor by the name of Bree Blevins. I thought, I would take a few lessons and learn some basics of well a few dances.
That was nearly 10 years ago, 12 different dances from Viennese Waltz to Salsa, some international, some american style and some both! Competitions have been too many to name in cities too many to remember. Simply put, it has been quite a ride!
Bree’s energy and passion for what she does is catching and I became terminal from the start. I was a beginning student that had to learn everything. Bree was patient and seemed to know just when to push me to achieve more and more. She made dancing fun and always found ways to expose me to higher levels of dance. Bree takes the time to listen to what my goals are and then works with me to develop a plan to further my dancing. I feel very fortunate at the “dumb luck” I encountered 10 years ago when I was introduced to my instructor.
